An astrology website should list your readings with prices, take bookings against your real availability, collect UPI payment upfront and ask for birth details. In India, a DIY builder plan that takes payments costs about ₹5,000–₹15,000 a year, developers charge ₹10,000–₹50,000 to build one, agencies ₹50,000 and up. Setav Go Pro builds it with you, bookings and UPI included.Builder and agency ranges: Hostinger India's 2026 guide (updated 26 February 2026). Developer range: Codingclave's published astrologer-site prices; Xpert Net Technologies lists astrology sites from ₹10,000. All checked 28 October 2026.

You have been taking clients over WhatsApp or through a marketplace, and now you want a site with your own name on it. The quotes don't agree with each other, and someone has probably pitched you an “Astrotalk-like app” as well. This guide sets out what an astrology website must do, what each route costs in India, with every figure sourced and dated, and who actually builds them.
Maybe not yet. If what you need is clients booking and paying, a booking link from your Setav profile does that today, with no website. Our guide to astrology marketplace commissions explains how to take direct bookings without building a website.
A full website earns its keep when you want more than that:
your own name showing up when people search for you on Google;
a home for your articles, yearly horoscopes and festival dates;
one address for your visiting cards, your YouTube channel and your Google Business Profile;
a page an overseas client can check before paying someone they have never met.
If any of those is why you are reading, here is what the site has to do.
Whoever builds it, an astrology website has nine jobs. Hold every quote against this list.
Birth details before the call. A kundli or matchmaking reading starts from date, time and place of birth. Asked for on the call, they eat into the reading; collected at booking, they reach you with time to prepare. Here are the questions to ask before a reading. Bookings run through your Setav profile, so each reading can ask for these details as part of the booking. See Setav for astrologers.
Payment before the reading. A client who has paid for a slot is far more likely to turn up for it. Taking the money at booking cuts no-shows and ends the chase for payment after a session. Here is a practical guide to taking payment before the session.
There are six ways to get an astrology website. The first five rows below quote what builders, developers, guides and gateways publish themselves; the last row is Setav's own, priced on its pricing page.
| Route | Who builds it | To build | Each year after | Bookings and UPI |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| DIY website builder | You | Your time | ₹5,000–₹15,000 for a plan that takes online payments. Example: Wix Core, ₹500 a month billed yearly, before tax | On a plan that supports them. Payments through a gateway you open yourself, about 1.90–2% a payment |
| WordPress with an astrology theme | You, or a freelancer at ₹500–₹2,500 an hour | Your time, or freelance hours | ₹3,000–₹15,000 for hosting, theme and plugins | A booking plugin plus a gateway plugin. Razorpay's standard rate is 2% plus 18% GST on that fee |
| Developer who builds astrologer sites | A freelancer or small studio | ₹10,000–₹20,000 basic; ₹20,000–₹50,000 with booking and payments. Listings from ₹10,000 | Domain ₹500–₹1,500; hosting ₹2,000–₹8,000; upkeep ₹1,500–₹10,000 if outsourced | Depends on the quote; the gateway fee comes on top |
| Web agency | A team | ₹50,000–₹2,00,000 or more | Depends on the contract | Depends on scope. A booking system can add ₹5,000–₹50,000 |
| Astrology app (Astrotalk-style) | An app development company | ₹4–7 lakh for a basic hybrid app | Ongoing hosting and app updates, not priced by the source | Built to order |
| Managed website: Setav Go Pro | The Setav team, with you | See Go Pro pricing | All taxes included; no separate hosting or domain fee | Included: booking against your availability, UPI, cards and wallets, no gateway account to open |
Builder, WordPress, freelance, agency, domain, hosting, upkeep and booking-feature figures: Hostinger India, How much does a website cost in India in 2026? (updated 26 February 2026). Developer row: Codingclave's astrologer website prices and Xpert Net Technologies' IndiaMART listing, both the vendors' own undated prices. App row: RichestSoft, Top Astrology App Development Companies in India (updated 24 August 2026). Gateway: Razorpay's standard pricing ("Last updated: May 2026"). All checked 28 October 2026. Wix Core price from wix.com/plans, and gateway rates on Wix from its help pages for Razorpay and PayU, checked 27 October 2026.
The cheapest routes are cheap because you do the work. Only the managed row includes bookings and UPI without a gateway account of your own, and the app row is a different purchase altogether, covered below.
Most quotes price the pages. For an astrologer, the booking and the payment are the parts that earn money, and they are the line that vendor price lists tend to leave out. Here is where they show up on each route.
DIY website builder
Payments start on a higher plan. On Wix, the Light plan can't accept payments and scheduling starts on Core. Wix Payments isn't offered in India, so you connect a gateway such as Razorpay or PayU India yourself, and the PayU India account has to pass a review first.
WordPress and developer builds
Booking is a plugin, or a feature priced separately. Hostinger India's guide says booking systems and similar features on a custom build can add ₹5,000–₹50,000 per feature.
Every route you run yourself
The gateway takes a fee on each booking. Razorpay's standard rate is 2% of each payment by card, UPI or netbanking, plus 18% GST on that fee, with no setup or annual charge. On Wix, Razorpay is listed from 2% and PayU India from 1.90%.
Zero platform commission. No charges on Pay via UPI or Pay later, and 0–5% gateway charges on Pay via Setav only. With Pay via Setav, client payments are credited to your linked bank account within 2 working days.

Search for astrology website development and you will find four kinds of builder. Not all of them are selling what an independent astrologer needs.
Built once
Many publish astrologer-site prices, and some run one near-identical page per city, so compare the work, not the city. Ask to see a site they built that takes bookings and payments, not just one that looks good.
Built once, at scale
A team of designers and developers, priced accordingly. Worth it for a large site with many pages and integrations, and usually more than a practice of one needs.
Different job
Most sell Astrotalk-style apps and portals for marketplace businesses. That's a different and much bigger job, built for a company hiring many astrologers rather than for one.
Built and run for you
A team builds the site with you and keeps it running, while you edit the parts that change. Setav Go Pro is one; more on it below.
Whose name is the domain registered in?
Can I change prices and block days myself, from my phone?
Do I have to open my own payment gateway account?
Where are clients' birth details stored, and who can see them?
What does year two cost?
Who fixes it when a booking fails?
An app suits a marketplace: many astrologers, live chat and calls, and clients who browse to pick one. That is what most app developers ranking for this topic build, and a basic hybrid astrology app costs ₹4 lakh to ₹7 lakh, according to RichestSoft, one of those developers (updated 24 August 2026, checked 28 October 2026).
A practice of one needs four things: readings, booking, payment and a birth-details form. A website does all four, and clients don't install anything. They tap a link in your Instagram bio or WhatsApp status and book.
An astrology app
Fits a marketplace with many astrologers
An astrology website
Fits a practice of one
If your practice later grows into a team taking calls around the clock, that is the time to price an app.
If you would rather not assemble a builder, a booking plugin and a gateway yourself, Setav Go Pro is your own website, built with you by the Setav team. Nothing goes live until you say yes.
It runs on your Setav profile, so the site comes with:
It is live at yourname.setav.app from day one, or the Setav team points a domain you already own at it. You change services, prices, availability, photos and testimonials in the Setav app, and the site updates itself. Prices include all taxes, and you get an invoice.
It is not for everyone. If you want control of every detail of the layout, or a large shop of products such as gemstones and yantras, a DIY builder serves you better. And a marketplace still brings you clients you don't have to find yourself, which a website of your own does not.
Want the Website Without Managing the Build?
Your own website, built with you by the Setav team, with booking against your real availability and UPI, cards and wallets at checkout.
See Go Pro WebsitesSee Go Pro pricingIt depends on who builds it. As of 28 October 2026, Indian developers who build astrologer sites publish prices of ₹10,000–₹20,000 for a basic site and ₹20,000–₹50,000 with booking and payments. Hostinger India's 2026 guide puts agencies at ₹50,000–₹2,00,000 or more, and builder plans that take online payments at ₹5,000–₹15,000 a year. Add a domain at ₹500–₹1,500 a year, and a gateway fee of about 2% plus GST on each payment.
Every reading listed with its price and length, booking against your real availability, payment at booking by UPI with cards as backup, and a form that collects date, time and place of birth before the session. Add reminders on WhatsApp, SMS or email, reviews from real clients with ratings, and pages Google can read. If you take clients abroad, it should also show slot times in the client's own time zone.
Four kinds of builder: you, on a DIY builder or WordPress; a freelancer or small studio, many of which publish astrologer-site prices; a web agency; or a managed service such as Setav Go Pro, where the Setav team builds the site with you and bookings and UPI payments are included. Many companies that rank for astrology website development build Astrotalk-style apps, which is a different and much larger job.
For a practice of one, a website. An app suits a marketplace with many astrologers, live chat and calls, and a basic hybrid astrology app costs ₹4 lakh to ₹7 lakh to build, according to RichestSoft, an app developer (updated 24 August 2026, checked 28 October 2026). A website covers what one astrologer needs: readings, booking, payment and a birth-details form. Clients don't have to install anything to use it.
